Almost every “it doesn’t work” with a bot comes down to permissions. Here’s what Lucie needs for each thing and how to diagnose it in a minute.
The official invite link already requests everything she needs. This page is for you if you unchecked permissions while inviting her, if your server restricts them per channel, or if you want to give her only the bare minimum.

The bare minimum for her to answer

Without these three, Lucie can’t even reply to you:

If she can’t see the channel, she can’t read your commands.

Send Messages

To reply to you, obviously.

Embed Links

Almost all of her responses are embeds. Without this, they come out empty.
Discord permissions apply per channel. If Lucie works in one channel but not the one next to it, it almost always means that channel has a permission override for her role.

By feature

Lucie respects Discord’s role hierarchy: she can’t sanction, move, or change the roles of anyone ranked above her. If a moderation command fails with one specific user, move Lucie’s role above that person’s.

Permissions you need

Different matter: on top of what Lucie can do, there’s what you’re allowed to ask her for. Moderation commands require the matching native permission or a moderation role authorized from the web dashboard. Two exceptions on purpose, because it’s your own data:
  • !purge -p — deletes your messages without asking you for moderation permissions.
  • !clearsnipe — clears your trail from the snipes with no permissions. Only !clearsnipe all requires Manage Messages.

Does she respond to the mention?

Type @Lucie help. If she says nothing at all, she either can’t see the channel or can’t send messages there.

Does she respond but the message comes out empty?

She’s missing Embed Links: her responses are embeds.

Is one specific command failing?

Check the table above and verify that permission in the channel, not just on the role.

Does it only fail with certain people?

That’s the role hierarchy. Move Lucie’s role above theirs.
If none of this explains it, drop by the support server and tell us which command and which channel.
